Well, chapter one of my adventure in China has officially come to a close. That's right, I finished my 12-week intensive Chinese language study.

Inside, some pictures and maybe a little commentary... Who knows, I'm shooting from the hip tonight.

Last Wednesday through Friday, I had my final exams.  They went OK, because apparently I passed. Here's proof:
Graduate?

So this week I skipped/overslept for the remaining 3 days of class. I nearly missed the graduation dinner because I thought it was on Wednesday night instead of Tuesday night. Here's a picture of my class (well, most of it):
Students and Teachers
The two Chinese girls are our teachers. I'm the goofy-looking one in the center.

On Wednesday morning, I was saved from sleeping in again by one of my classmates. You see, we were forgoing class in favor of a trip to Mao's tomb. So I got dressed as quickly as I could and hopped on the subway for Tian'anmen. Despite my slow start, I was way ahead of my class. I decided to visit some extra stations to pass the time (I would have gone for the full Mornington Crescent ripoff, but transfers take waaay too long).

After we all got to Tian'anmen, we headed to the tomb. There was a huge line of people but they really shuffle people through, so it went pretty quickly. Inside we moved very fast. They don't really like you to linger. Anyhow, Mao Zedong is dead. Rumors that he's on an island somewhere with Elvis are totally unfounded.

I'm rich biatch!

4000 RMB
Actually, Jester and I have to pay rent tomorrow, so I'm sitting on a pile of cash right now. Yeah... I figured I'd take a picture while I've got it.

The drama continues

So uh... yeah, Very is definitely into me. There is no longer any doubt. Oh, and she found this diary. I guess it's fair since I found her blog.

Now the problem is Cher... We haven't really seen much of each other since I met Very, but technically we haven't broken anything off. Honestly, my romantic life has never been this complicated. I've got to make a clean break with Cher (and I'm not just saying that because Very is reading this) but I'm a bit confused about how to do that. Maybe I should tell her I'm gay? I've never used that one before. I could always tell her the truth, but where's the fun in that?

Transitions

I've got too much free time now that school is over. I have sooo much trouble when my time isn't scheduled in some way. Here's to waking up before 10:00am.

is Very in the picture, and what is the URL to her blog ? (if it's myspace or LJ, please, end it now and find someone a bit more mature..)

(And assuming you're the one in the red shirt, what an apropos colored shirt to wear, pinko ;)

She's not studying Chinese in Beijing because she already speaks/reads it. No, you can't have her address, otherwise I would have linked to it myself. And no, it's not on myspace or LJ. In fact, it's not really anywhere right now because her hosting provider crapped out.

Yeah, that's me with my Tweak shirt on. Honestly, that shirt is totally lost on people here, along with my Unamerican "Whitey will pay" shirt.

ok, try to clear this up by sasquatchan (2.00 / 0) #15 Sat Dec 10, 2005 at 04:02:14 PM EST
She's mormon, ya ? Is she a Chinese native, or a missionary, or otherwise transplant/expat/etc ?

I've actually covered this in previous diaries but I'll save you the trip... this time.

Very is a Mormon. Very is ethnic Chinese from Malaysia. There are no missionaries in China, because the govt. doesn't allow that kinda thing. She's here teaching English so she can save up money for school.

Man Whore by McKracken (2.00 / 0) #3 Fri Dec 09, 2005 at 05:56:09 PM EST
You are a man whore.

Remember that time on my couch, when you disgraced it?  And I was trapped in my room, forced to fall asleep to sounds I never wanted to hear.

Ass.

Say hello to the Chinese for me.

Dude... by weihan (2.00 / 0) #13 Sat Dec 10, 2005 at 01:54:06 PM EST
Where did that come from?

I'm not a man whore if they don't pay me. Also, don't misread. Just because I'm dating two girls doesn't imply that I'm sleeping with anybody.

Bitch.

Can you read and understand the certificate...?

For all you know it might say "Thanks for your money, Stupid Lao Wai!"

it's not me. That's not my thing.

It might... by weihan (2.00 / 0) #10 Sat Dec 10, 2005 at 01:14:48 PM EST
But I do know how to write Lao Wai, so they'd have to use a more obscure derogatory term if they    wanted to pull a fast one. Actually, I can read most of it except for the last sentence.

Best way to end it.. by LinDze (2.00 / 0) #6 Fri Dec 09, 2005 at 10:10:01 PM EST
Sleep with her sister. Either your relationship is null and void, or she gets in on the hot sister/sister/wierdo action. Its a win win for everybody!

Damnit! by weihan (2.00 / 0) #14 Sat Dec 10, 2005 at 02:04:09 PM EST
Stupid One Child policy! Why must you taunt me so?

Actually, I think I'll just tell her that I want some other girl to be my girlfriend and that she totally failed it.

Heh. I can see it now:

"You failed it, Cher"
"I felt it?"
"No, you failed it. F-A-I-L-E-D"
"Oh... What are you talking about?"
"Nevermind... Just stop calling me"

Congrats . . . by slozo (2.00 / 0) #17 Tue Dec 13, 2005 at 03:38:44 AM EST
. . . on the certificate.

As to the situation, be careful. Get too cheeky, and you end up with no ladies . . . I say you tell Cher straight up - you met another girl, and don't want to lead her on. Being chinese, she will respect this gentlemanly behaviour. She might even start stalking you.

That would be the PERFECT scenario - thus, no matter how the situation ends up with Very, you're a winner.

IF ALL FAILS - come down to Wuxi, I can set you up with numerous hawt ladies looking for some "big boy" laowai action . . . ;)
